Concision supplies a further 12 modules to Rolleston College
Off-site manufacturing company Concision has been chosen by the Ministry of Education to supply a further 12 modules and four breakout rooms to the local high school - Rolleston College, to help support rapid roll growth of students.
The new transportable classrooms will accompany the first two delivered at the end of 2020 and will accommodate a further 200 students.
Concision’s transportable classrooms offer schools a faster solution to support roll growth, providing practical, flexible, multipurpose spaces for students. The design of the classrooms allows for plenty of adaptability to ensure the needs of the students and teachers are met; teachers can close off their classrooms for privacy or can widen and merge with other classrooms to encourage collaboration.
Furthermore, Concision supplied six deck cassettes which were added to other decking required on-site. This further encouraged collaboration through indoor/outdoor learning solutions and is currently being used by teachers and students to expand their indoor learning space, whilst also providing a comfortable, sheltered area for senior students to sit during break time.
All manufacturing work was completed off-site in the Concision Rolleston Factory located just 3.6km from the local High School. Manufacturing off-site allows for more certainty due to a more controlled environment, but also means little assembly is required once the modules arrive on site.
Working locally also meant the team at Concision had the advantage of witnessing the delivery of the classrooms. The classrooms were transported to site near completion, ready for services to be connected, re-located via Hiab. It was very rewarding for the staff to see the project unfold from the initial design phase through to the installation on-site.
